Excitement Popping Up in Rosslyn!

There is a buzz emanating from Rosslyn – not only is there a ton of development happening there, but we recently contributed to a pop-up retail concept at Central Place.  Called The Alcove, the space is two levels and required a lot of creativity to make it exciting and interesting.

We had a great team of partners – the Rosslyn BID, DAVIS Construction, Gensler, and JBG Smith – who really made the whole experience so much fun.  Because the main temporary retailer is non-profit Turning the Page, we all donated our services to help the cause.  Different retailers and activities keep popping up in the space among all the books, and the space continues to buzz.

For our contribution, we added decorative panels left over from a project next door, built the wheelchair ramps, hung ceiling grid, and partitioned off some mechanical pipes, among other items.  We also got a big assist from United Rentals who donated a lift.

But perhaps the most exciting feature we added was a pair of drywall chairs!  Our VP of Field Operations Cam Sokoloff designed these chairs to use at the entrance to The Alcove.  These are definitely an eye catcher and conversation piece!  Be sure to visit The Alcove, buy a book for a great cause, and have a seat in one of our chairs for a relaxing read.
